Wells B&B Guide Bath Region
Situated in Somerset at the foot of the Mendip Hills and famous for the Cheddar Gorge is the medieval city of Wells, England's smallest city.
A visit to the beautifully constructed St. Cuthbert's Church, a parish church so impressive that it is often mistaken for a cathedral is worthwhile, however the Wells Cathedral, the Bishop's Palace, is an awesomestill, moated medieval stronghold design of striking beauty. Walk across the enclosed bridge that leads from the Chapter House, over the access road, to Vicar's Close, the oldest, intact medieval street in Europe. Every Sunday afternoon around 2 p.m. you will be treated to a glorious, but deafening, hour-long performance of pealing bells. . A couple of miles away near the cute hamlets of Dilcote, Neighbourne and Easton is where Britain's most spectacular caves can be found, The Wookey Hole Caves, they feature one of the largest natural domes in Europe with 25 caverns already discovered with exploration still continuing, also see the infamous Witch Of Wookey.
