In West Sussex is another interesting chateau set in forty acres of sweeping grounds and gardens can be visited in the small town of Arundel of mostly Victorian architecture situated on the River Arun in West Sussex and the ancestral home of the Dukes of Norfolk.

Standing majestically, high on a hill above the town, the castle dominates the landscape and has an enchanting fairy tale quality about it. It contains fine collections of paintings by Van Dyck, Gainsborough, Canaletto, 16th century continental furniture, armour, clocks, tapestries and a lot more. Another interesting place to visit is the Amberley Museum where there are over 36 acres of fantastic fun, inside and out, for the whole family! Travel by vintage bus and narrow gauge railway, stroll the nature trails and relax in the numerous pubs and eateries and cafés. There are wetlands in Arundel that are home to many rare species and you can hopefully spot them at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. You will also find a wide variety of activities in the region, from simple hiking and exploring the rich heritage and culture, to the more active pursuits such as cycling.
