The Amaryllis is situated in the heart of a trendy restaurant district in Edinburgh. Nearby is Pasquales, a lively Italian Restaurant. The Apartment is cool and trendy. Jacques offers provincial French cuisine while the Bangalore tempts the taste buds with fiery vindaloo and creamy korma. Cosmopolitan Cafe's, Ice Cream Parlours and Old Scottish Pubs serving traditional Pub Grub can all be found within five minutes walk of The Amaryllis By Car:
Whether approaching from the North, the South or the West, the easiest way to get into the City for the first time, is by way of the city by-pass, which forms a ring around the landward side of the city.

The most convenient way to reach The Amaryllis Guest House is to take the turn-off A702. Leaving the by-pass by this route you should follow the signs for the City Centre. Stay on this main road all the way into the city until you see the castle on the horizon and you approach the Kings Theatre on your right.

By Bus:
The number 10 & 27 bus routes are along Gilmore place, both stopping near Upper Gilmore Place. These buses can be caught in either Princes Street (10) or in Hanover Street (27) in the City Centre.

Alternatively, if arriving by Rail or by Plane with a lot of Luggage, it may be easier just to make the short journey from the city Centre by Taxi. The journey from the Airport can be made via one of the frequent Airport buses or directly by taxi.
