  Inn Amenities

The Lee is a working livestock farm, so there is always plenty to see and do just out the door.

Northumberland is often referred to as, "England's last Wilderness" with beautiful and varied countryside and almost endless sandy beaches. There are also more castles and fortifications than any other county in England, so don't forget that camera!

We very much hope you enjoy this virtual tour to The Lee Farm, and look forward to meeting you in person in the very near future.

A traditional stone built Northumbrian farmhouse benefiting from full central heating throughout, The Lee offers bed and breakfast accommodation of the highest standard.

Guests begin their days with a traditional farmhouse breakfast which is served using local produce when at all possible - A real "Taste" of Northumberland! Breakfasts are served in the relaxing atmosphere of the guests' dining room.

Guests have exclusive use of the adjoining lounge with comfy chairs and colour TV and VCR. It's the ideal place to relax and unwind after a days exploring - or to plan the activities for the day to come. In the winter, there is a cosy log fire to snuggle up to.

There are three guest bedrooms, all decorated and appointed to a high standard, each with a colour TV, as well as full hospitality trays (including hand made biscuits - yum, yum!), hairdryers and views.

There is also a sun room / conservatory - Complete with Applejack, our Victorian Rocking Horse!

And there are well kept large gardens for guests to wander, or just sit on the grass. Ample off-road private parking for your cars with pets by arrangement.

  Area Activities

For those interested in the history of England, the ancient kingdom of Northumbria abounds with sites of interest; From a multitude of castles including those at Alnwick, Bamburgh, and Lindisfarne to the extensive Roman remains dotted along Hadrian's Wall - All of which are within easy travelling distance from The Lee. And the National Trust properties of Wallington Hall and Cragside House are only a few minutes drive away.
For the walker and nature lover, Northumberland offers wild, and unspoilt areas such as the 400 square miles that is the Northumberland National Park - Which just happens to be on our very doorstep! The nearby coastline also offers spectacular walking and scenery with mile upon mile of sandy beaches and rugged dunes.

For the sporty, we have miles of cycleable bridle ways, great fishing in nearby rivers and more golf courses than you could possibly play on! (Including one at Rothbury).

The nearby village of Rothbury offers a number of pubs, restaurants, cafes and take aways. And if you really yearn for the city life, the bustling city of Newcastle upon Tyne is within easy reach.
