  Inn Amenities

Hospitality is in the American "Innkeeper" tradition, making this the perfect place to enjoy a romantic tryst close to BATH - the city with a sinful Georgian past as a spa, where sex, syphilis and sulphurous waters were brewed into a hedonistic cocktail. If you are in the mood for a little modern sinning or want to celebrate, make it memorable by indulging in one of our "Honeymoon Specials" - sexy satin sheets, a waterbed, vintage champagne and a wicked basket of fruit! Breakfasts can be Healthy - or not - carnivorous, vegetarian or vegan.

Hidden away amongst the trees on the hillside above the town is the stump of Bradford's one and only windmill, which still forms a prominent if rather eccentric landmark.

The ornate Victorian spiral staircase, pointed Gothic windows and the four storey cotswold stone tower with its conical stone tiled roof, are features more reminiscent of a folly. However the building had a short spell in the 19th Century as a windmill and still has an oak sail gallery as a reminder of its industrial past.

The building has a long and honourable history , unlike ourselves, Peter and Priscilla Roberts whose history is rather shorter and arguably less honourable. We now provide funky beds, fabulous breakfasts and vegetarian ethnic dinners.

  Area Activities

Bradford on Avon is laid out beneath you, just waiting to be explored.

By night she, like the mill, beguiles you with her twinkling lights and the exotic scents of oriental cookery from the many pubs and restaurants.

By day, she reveals her Georgian charms coyly and only to those adventurous enough to explore her secret courtyards, peer through half open doorways for tantalising glimpses of verdant gardens or be so bold as to stroke a few upmarket pussies who can generally be found sunbathing amongst the catmint on Tory!

This is not a town for those wedded to their cars, so abandon yours and head for the narrow alleyways and paths which stagger up the steep hillside zig-zagging between the terraces of trendy weavers cottages and pretentious clothiers mansions!

If you've done BRADFORD and want to explore a little further try a few of the following:

KENNET & AVON CANAL - towpath walk to Bath (10mls) via Avoncliff, Claverton and Bathampton. Canalside pubs en route.

CLASSIC VILLAGES - TURLEIGH, FRESHFORD, LIMPLEY STOKE, LACOCK, STEEPLE ASHTON, BIDDESTONE & CASTLE COMBE.

TOWNS and CITIES - MALMESBURY, TETBURY, FROME, BRISTOL, BATH, SALISBURY, SHAFTESBURY & CIRENCESTER

"REALLY NICE" AREAS LESS THAN TWO HOURS DRIVE AWAY! - COTWOLDS, MENDIPS, QUANTOCKS, EXMOOR, WYE VALLEY, BLACK MOUNTAINS, BRECON BEACONS, NEW FOREST, SOMERSET LEVELS.
