Onich is situated a short distance from famous Ben Nevis and Glencoe in the stunning Scottish Highlands (lochaber).
This is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful scenery of the Scottish Highlands, as well as discovering the landscapes of the Mull and Oban, Loch Ness, Skye and Inveraray.

There is a great variety of visitor attractions and activities nearby, including: hill and forest walking, climbing, mountain biking, fishing - sea, loch and river, sailing, boating and windsurfing, riding, pony trekking, golf, Funyakking, canyoning and Archery

The main road to Onich is the A82, which runs all the way from Glasgow. to Inverness. It is about 10 miles south of Fort William, to which daily train services run from Glasgow. Regular services connect Glasgow to the rest of the UK.

Bus services to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Oban, Fort William and Inverness also run in this region.

Loch Linnhe, a sea-loch with its southernmost reaches just to the north of Oban, splits into two 'fingers' at Onich, one stretching northwards and the other to the east.

Accommodation comprises: one large twin bedded room and one three bedded room both with shower and toilet en-suite & a double room with private shower and toilet facilities adjacent.

All rooms have fresh fruit, tea-making facilities and colour televisions. Substantial healthy breakfasts are served to guests in their rooms.

There are many excellent places to eat in the village of Onich, from delicious fish & chips to elegant haute cuisine.
The Manse was designed by Thomas Telford and built in 1827. It is now a listed building which has been fully refurbished to a high standard to offer comfort and tranquillity in the midst of wonderful loch and mountain scenery.

Guests at the Old Manse are entitled to use the swimming and leisure facilities of the nearby Isles of Glencoe Hotel where they may also enjoy substantial discounts on meals at the hotel's Bistro.

The West Highlands are renowned for their outstanding natural beauty and Onich lies right in the heart of the region.

The peace and quiet is often at its best when just before nightfalls, the colours of the setting sun reflect across the waters of the loch.

Boat Trips:
1. One Hour Around Loch Leven from the Isles of Glencoe Hotel. Take the short boat trip on sheltered waters to view the historic burial islands. Great views across the water of Glencoe and Mamore mountains. Daily in summer.

2. Three Hours Cruise Loch Linnhe from Fort William Town Pier. Charming boat and characterful skipper run Seal Island Cruises the length of Loch Linnhe from the heart of Fort William adjacent Crannog Restaurant. Refreshments on board. Daily sailing times 10am - 12 noon and 2pm - 4pm alternatively enquire about evening cruises.

3. Three- Four Hours Journey down Loch Shiel from Glenfinnan. Board the M.V. Sileas for a cruise down historic Loch Shiel. There are a variety of trips from 1 hour to a full day with refreshments available on board. Runs from Sunday to Friday in summer, cruises from 10am


Fantastic Beaches & Bays:
1. 10 Mins Cuil Bay, Duror - Cuil turnoff from A85 south on Oban road is a dead-end on lovely wide bay. Views south to Mull. Great picnic spots near car or walk on where road ends and discover two further, even nicer beaches. The further you go the quieter it gets.

2. 1 hour 45 mins Sands of Morar nr Mallaig - take signs to Mallaig from Fort William. Enjoy the Road to the Isles and you end up at miles of silver beaches. Busy in parts but you will always find a quiet spot. The movie Local Hero was filmed here.

3. 1 hour 45 mins Singing Sands, Ardnamurchan - cross the Corran Ferry, (runs frequently all day - last crossing Ardgour to Corran 7.50pm or 8.50pm summer) then follow signs to Acharacle. Signs there lead you to Swordle - park at the end of the road then walk 40 minutes along forestry/drove road to reach a wonderful quiet beach with stunning views to Skye and the inner Hebrides.

4. 45 mins Kilmalieu - cross the Corran Ferry (2.3) then pick up signs to Kingairloch. Where the road meets the sea a long south facing bay stretches out. Very quiet and a lovely picnic spot. Rocky coast at the end perfect for exploring.

Scenic Drives:
1. 3 hours + Lismore - pick up signs for Port Appin on A85 Oban Road. The road
