At Turlow Bank you are only a step away from delightful walking country and a short walk takes you to Carsington Water where watersports, birdwatching and cycling facilities are available.

Turlow Bank is within a few minutes walk of the charming and quiet village of Hognaston which is well off the beaten track and free of through traffic. There is a pub, a church, some delightful cottages and little else - ideal for a quiet stroll.

There are traffic free trails along former railway lines with cycle hire available and within an easy drive are facilities for many outdoor activities including caving, climbing and hang gliding. Or take a walk along the River Dove and cross the famous stepping stones.

We are 4 miles from the thriving market town of Ashbourne with its shops, antique shops, art galleries, restaurants etc.

Other interesting small towns within easy reach include Buxton, noted for its fine Victorian and Edwardian architecture and a newly re-furbished Opera House offering a full programme of plays and concerts as well as the annual Opera Festival. Bakewell is a market town of great charm and of course is famous for the Bakewell Pudding.

We do not accept dogs other than guide dogs. Smoking is not permitted in the house. We do not allow children under 12 years.

Deposits - a deposit of £10 per night is required on booking.

Cancellations - deposits will only be returned if the room can be re-let, or at our discretion.

Arrival Times - guests expected to arrive between 4pm and 6pm (except by prior arrangement).
Departure times - Guests are asked to vacate their rooms by 10.30am on the day of departure.

The bedrooms are luxurious and spacious with excellent bathroom facilities. All rooms are centrally heated.

The King size bedroom is en suite with wc and a shower over the rolltop bath. Both bedrooms are centrally heated.
The bed can be converted to two singles if required.

The double bedroom has a private bathroom with shower over the bath.

The sleeping accommodation is comfortable and spacious with excellent bathroom facilities.

Both bedrooms have tea / coffee making facilities, radio alarms and hair dryers.

Set in six acres on the hillside overlooking the charming village of Hognaston, we are surrounded by glorious views. Watch the ponies grazing in the field, enjoy the hens pecking around and be grateful there's no cockerel to disturb your nights rest. Relax watching the ducks on our farm or the wild ducks and geese flying by on their way to nearby Carsington Water.
