Clifthouse is set in a quiet countryside location, yet less than 10 minutes drive from the M6 motorway. It is the perfect place to break your journey, or to stay longer and explore the area.

This long established Bed & Breakfast is on a traditional family farm, where cattle and sheep are raised. The Edwardian farmhouse is bursting with character. Large spacious rooms are traditionally decorated, hosting some beautiful antique furniture.

Whichever room you are given, you will not be disappointed with the view as the scenery is magnificent in all directions. The River Lyne which runs along the perimeters of the farm, the backdrop of mountains, as well as fields with cattle and sheep grazing, can all be seen from within the comfort of your own room.

A Full English Breakfast can be enjoyed in the Dining room which looks onto the well maintained garden, home to Beech trees hundreds of years old.

There is plenty to explore in the Cumbria and Scottish Borders. Spend a couple of days driving around the idyllic countryside.

Hadrian's Wall
Clifthouse Farm is situated less than 25 minutes drive away from some parts of Hadrian's Wall. Hadrian's Wall is the most important monument built by the Romans in Britain. Internationally celebrated as a World Heritage site, it is the best known frontier in the entire Roman Empire, and stands as a reminder of past glories of one of the world's greatest civilisations.

The Lake District
The North of the Lake District (Penrith) is less than 30 minutes drive away, the heart of The Lake District approximately 1 hour away. When staying at Clifthouse farm you can enjoy the beauty of the Lake District by taking day trips.
