The historic market town of Kendal is the Gateway to the Lakes, it has many attractions and is famous for Kendal Mint Cake.Cragg Farm offers Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast accommodation and a Self Catering 6 Berth Static Caravan and is an ideal place for short or longer stays. Cragg Farm proves an excellent base to explore the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales or as a stopover for breaking your journey, North to Scotland, or South for England or Wales.What ever you wish to do on your holiday we will make you most welcome at Cragg Farm, and we will try to make your holiday or short break here as enjoyable as possible.

Cragg Farm Self Catering Caravan is set in its own site adjacent to the farm steading and offers top quality accommodation in a rural setting taking in views of the Whinfell range and the Howgill Fells

The modern Fiesta Viking 6 berth caravan measures 28 x 10 feet and has two access doors. It is situated on its own site within easy reach of the farm; with good access from the quiet country, lane and car parking space is provided. The caravan has its own grounds and garden area which includes seating and picnic areas .You over-look open fields where you can watch the sheep and cows grazing, birds singing or simply relax by taking in the spectacular views and fresh air. Children have ample room to run around and explore the farm activities.

The Caravan consists of a double bedroom & twin bedroom and a spacious lounge and dining area that can transform into a double bed if you so wish. The bathroom has shower, washbasin and flush toilet. The fully equipped kitchen has a gas cooker, fridge, toaster, kettle, etc with all cutlery and crockery provided. Hot and cold water is on tap. The lounge has a gas fire and colour T.V. The beds are made up before your arrival with all linen provided. Electricity is on a £1 coin meter and the gas is included in the accommodation cost. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Open from March to November. Cumbria Tourist Board Inspected.

  Area Activities

We are situated in between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Park
All attractions are within easy reach.

Walking - There are many interesting walks nearby some following public footpaths or country lanes, for the more adventurous the lakeland fells give you the opportunity to test your fell walking skills and agility and witness some stunning and spectacular scenery. A good guide book is an advantage they give planned walks with directions . Please remember the country code and close all gates and keep dogs on leads when going over farm land.

Cycling
Again there are numerous cycle route in the area, some pre-planned for you or you may prefer to take to the country lanes and plan your own route . There are opportunities to take Mountain Bikes off the road on to fields and forest tracks .Your own Cycles can be stored at the farm .Cycle hire is available nearby.

Pony Trekking
There are several riding and trekking stables nearby where you can learn to ride or improve your skills . Or you may wish to trek in the local countryside

Water Activities
Lake Wndermere offers the largest selection of water activities from speed boats and water skiing to rowing boats , some people find a
Lake Cruise very enjoyable . Other lakes offer lake cruises. You can view the Steamboat Centre on the shore of lake Windermere. Fishing is possible in some lakes and rivers ,a local fishing licence may however be required .

Historic Houses and Castles - There is an array of Historic Houses and Castles within easy reach , each offering spectacular architecture and design , many were homes to Famous Authors or distinguished people , some are even still lived in by their families . You can view the house and contents of many. Take a look at these examples found locally Holker Hall, Levens Hall, Muncaster Castle.

Gardens - If you like looking round gardens you will not be disappointed there are many to look at as well as many interesting Garden Centres

Museums - Museums and Collections are all on view locally . Some museums specialise in local collections and way of life.
Art galleries are also on view.

Golfing - If you fancy a round of golf on holiday there are many courses to test your skills . From 9 holes to 18 Holes
golf courses or a golf driving range . You may have to pre-book on some courses

Sporting Facilities - Swimming ,Badminton , Squash , Table Tennis , Bowls , Tennis , Football are all on offer locally. Kendal also has a Leisure Centre.

General Attractions - You can enjoy a visit to South Lakes Animal Park or Ostrich World. Take a journey on Little Ratty or look round the Rheged visitor centre. You can take a look underground at White Scar Caves. And not to miss out on a visit to Beatrix Potters house and exhibitions.
