  Inn Amenities

The atmosphere of this fine Georgian house is friendly and relaxing, and the resident proprietors are always on hand to ensure that your stay is an enjoyable one. Traditional furniture enhances the character of each of the ten spacious bedrooms, each individually designed and decorated with more than a touch of luxury.

The generous full English breakfast (or vegetarian option) will set you up for the day, whether walking, climbing or sightseeing. After the days exertions you can relax in the elegant and comfortable lounge, or enjoy the hotel's attractive and well-tended gardens.

The hotel is open for most of the year and with full central heating you can be sure of a warm welcome at Acorn House, whatever the season!

Three of the bedrooms have luxurious four poster beds. All bedrooms are en-suite with a choice of bathroom or shower room, and all have colour televisions, radio alarms, tea/coffee making facilities and hospitality trays.

Our rooms are centrally heated so are nice and cosy even on the coldest of Lakeland days and being in a quiet area you won't have to worry about sleepless nights!

As you can see from the photographs, all our rooms are very bright. One ground floor bedroom is available and all bedrooms are cleaned daily, assuring complete cleanliness. Twin and family rooms are available.

Visitors enter Acorn House Hotel through a conservatory with a live fruit bearing grape vine. This is a stunning room to sit and enjoy the sunshine. There is also a spacious and bright residents lounge where you can enjoy a good book and relax after a day in Keswick or walking the fells.

  Area Activities

Keswick is only 18 miles away from the M6, but a world away from the ever increasing pace of the rat race. Here you can relax and enjoy the contrasting attractions of a lively holiday town and magnificent surrounding landscape, where even at the height of the season you can still find peace and tranquility.

The town itself, on the Northern shores of Derwentwater, has many attractions - museums and galleries, fascinating shops for browsing and buying, and restaurants and cafes offering everything from chips to cordon bleu!

Water sports, golf, walking, climbing and pony trekking are just a few of the activities to enjoy in the natural beauty of Keswick's surrounding countryside.

For those who prefer a less energetic holiday there are regular cruise trips on Derwentwater, bus tours of the area, and the area boasts many fine houses and gardens, with links such as Wordsworth and Southey.....

...In other words, something for everyone, all year round!
