Built in 1875 by Edward Fuller Sewell, an uncle of Anna Sewell, the author of the novel "Black Beauty". It is a Victorian stone built residence occupying a prime position in the centre of this picturesque village, overlooking the common, where sheep graze right outside the garden gate.
